Organic and Sustainable Agriculture

Agriculture Action Agenda - Expanding Organic and Sustainable Agriculture Interested in Sustainable or Organic Agriculture?
Require Quality Certified Inputs?
Require More Information and Advice ?

The Agriculture Action Agenda includes researching, developing and promoting the advantages and benefits of carbon based agriculture systems that achieve and maintain optimum soil health and quality using farming practices grounded in raising soil organic matter levels through the use of quality recycled organic content products.

These key strategic components are then adapted to strategies for discrete markets such as viticulture, food production, nurseries and cut flowers.

There is an ever-increasing ledger of scientific evidence supporting the validity of the argument that organic matter and biodiversity levels within our soils are the key to the sustainability and resilience of both natural and commercial ecosystems. Direct links have also been made between low soil organic matter levels in soils and productivity losses. For example in NSW, Australia the Department of Agriculture (now Department of Primarily Industries) estimates that 70-80% of all commercial agricultural soils contain less than 1% organic matter and that 3-5% is considered to be the minimum level where the soil ecosystem can sustain. There is also established links between low soil organic matter levels and reduced property values.

Quality organic input products, many of which contain recycled organic materials, offer one of the best and fastest means we have of increasing and feeding the soil biodiversity. Organic input products containing recycled garden organics contain an incredible diversity of different species & genus plant material.

When applied to the soil the benefits of this diversity are passed on in the form of organic carbon and a diverse range of beneficial microorganisms. As a bio-security measure quality assured composted organic input products derived from this feedstock undergo a rigorous thermophilic processes to destroy any plant seeds and pathogens.
